Strong winds cause damage, power outages in parts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts

Haverhill, MA., United States (4E) – Residents in parts of New Hampshire and Massachusetts are dealing with power outages Thursday as strong winds blow through the area.

School officials closed Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill for the day and windblown debris was also an issue in some areas.

Nearly 1,000 power outages were reported between the two states according to their respective utliliy companies.

Brushfires were also set off in Windham, NH. due to the increasing winds.

The National Weather Service reported that dangeriously dry and windy conditions will continue through Thursday evening.
